About
Mahlia is a warm and empathetic psychologist who values building a strong and supportive relationship with her clients. She strives to create a safe space for clients to share their experiences and work towards their individual goals.
Outside of the therapy room, Mahlia enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, spoiling her dog and cooking. She also loves exploring new restaurants around Melbourne and is always open to recommendations!

Approach
Mahlia tailors her therapeutic approach to the specific needs of each client, taking the time to fully understand each person’s unique experiences and challenges. Mahlia collaboratively works with clients to develop a shared understanding of their difficulties and make positive changes towards their individual therapy goals. Mahlia understands that the client is the expert in their own life, incorporating their feedback, insights, and strengths throughout the treatment process.

Mahlia uses evidence-based psychological interventions to assist clients in achieving long-term outcomes. She adopts an eclectic treatment approach, drawing from a range of modalities such as, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Compassion- Focused Therapy (CFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Schema Therapy.
Mahlia offers both Telehealth and face-to-face consultations.

Mahlia specialises in working with adults. She has experience working across various mental health settings including, public mental health (inpatient, outpatient, and community mental health services) and private practice settings.
